Indian Congress is storming back to power at Karnataka assembly election 2023
India’s opposition Congress party has swept the Karnataka state elections, leaving a blow to Narendra Modi’s ruling BJP. The election is the first of five crucial state polls this year that are seen as setting the tone for parliamentary elections due in April and May 2024.
The defeat in Karnataka would be a blow for Modi, who remains highly popular after nine years in power and eyeing to win a third term nationally in 2024.
